December Favourites

Joico K-Pak Damage Therapy Restorative styling oil
Ive tried a few different oils but surprisingly this is the one I reach for first on most days. It leaves my hair super soft and smooth and only a small amount of it is needed. It smells nice as well, always a plus. Im going to do a proper post on this as well as the shampoo and conditioner that goes with it so look out for those. But overall, love this stuff.

Revlon Photoready
I was using colourstay for a while, but I really am not a fan of that foundation. I know a lot of people rave about it but I find it clings to my dry patches too much and is too matte. I had to go back to my love photoready. Too me this looks like skin. It matches me perfect in shade vanilla and has a very natural look which is a must for me.

Revlon Just Bitten Kissable Balm Stain in Charm
This gives a nice peachy coral tint to my lips. It isnt a very pigmented colour but thats what I like about it. It wears well and is my favourite of the three colours that I have.

Marcelle Xtension Plus mascara
I recieved this in a glossybox a while back. It is a lengening mascara which isnt something I look for as I have quite long lashes already, but I actually really like this stuff. It doesnt clump and give long separated lashes.

Annabelle blush in rosewood
Ive blogged about this here so I wont go into detail. But the colour is great for winter, and looks nice on my pale complexion.

Mac Lipstick in Hug Me
This is new to my collection and while it wasnt quite the colour I thought it was going to be, I still like it. Its very similar to my lip colour but slightly darker. Its really easy to wear as someone who rarely wears a bright lip. It goes with anything and isnt dramatic.

Bath and Body Works candle in spiced cider
I love cinnamony scents and flavours so this was right up my ally. It smells exactly as its named and fills not only my room, but the entire house with its warm spicey scent. Yum!

Korres Guava Body Butter and Shower Gel

I havent tried many Korres products as I find them a bit pricey, but i saw these minis and thought id see what I thought. First off, I dont even know what guava smells like so this was kind of a hit or miss scent choice. Its not my favourite of scents, but it is nice.
Not a lot to say about the shower gel, but lathers up nicely and the scent lasts on the skin, especially when pairing it with the matching body butter, which I quite like. A little goes a long way and it leaves your skin feeling smooth and moisturised- good for these cold and gloomy winter days.
Id love to try a different scent of the butter for a little splurge in the future, but I dont think ill be spending the money on a full sized shower gel any time soon.

Nars Scarlet Empress

During the winter months and especially around christmas time, everyone loves to sport a nice red lip. I think this deep red would be a lovely colour to wear. The finish of the lipstick is really nice- isnt drying and doesnt accentuate dry lips which we all know happens this time of year. Personally, I havent found a classic red colour that suits me and my skin tone, so I opt for deeper reds that have a berry tinge and think they would suit most people.

Empties #5

Im very proud of the amount of hoarded products ive been using up the past few months, especially lately. As you can tell, im been focusing mainly on body things as I have a ton of half used bottles sitting around of things ive either not particularly liked or forgot about.

Arbonne Aromassentials Awaken Sea Salt scrub
I wasnt big on this. I havent tried many scrubs, but I know I wouldnt want to use this one again. It was a bit gritty to use on anywhere but the legs really as it left the skin red. It also left an oily residue on the skin that unless I washed off would make me feel slimy and gross.

Calgon Take Me Away! Tropical Dream body lotion
Let me start off with my hate for the scent of this. In the store it seemed nice, but once I used it it kinda gave me a headache. For lack of a better description, it smells tropical. Not fruity like most scents I go for, but definitely think the name fits well. Im not a fan of lotions really, as I dont feel they do much for ading moisture to my skin compared to a butter, but for hot summer days theyre what I tend to reach for. But I didnt notice that this did a whole lot and the scent was always throwing me off using it. I ended up dumping the last quarter as I couldnt stand to look or smell it any longer.

L'oreal Age Perfect Day Cream
Not gonna lie, I was actually using this at night. I found it too thick and take forever to sink in the skin for day use. Also before anyone asks why im using an anti aging product at 20, this was left at my house by my aunt that doesnt live in canada, so I thought id take the liberty of finishing it up rather than just letting it sit around unused or get tossed. I do think this moisturises, but does nothing for dry skin. Lucky I finished this up in time to switch to my richer creams for winter to help my dry patches. Cant say it turned the clock back on my skin aging as I didnt really see anything different, nor do I think I would.

Advil tablets
Random one. But lets face it, no one feels beautiful when theyre in pain. My wisdom teeth were coming in and giving me horrible jaw pain and this was the only thing that got me through the days..and nights.

NutriMin C RE9 Restoring Mist Balancing Toner and Reactivating Facial Serum Day & Night
Ive had these samples sitting in the medicine cabinet for I dont know how long. Decided to use them up and see if they did anything. I was using the serum for quite  while consiering the size of the package. I enjoyed using it and think id like to use a serum on my skin more often, just not this one. The 'mist toner' I thought was kinda funny. Since you cant mist it on the skin it was kinda hard to use as its hard to get basically water out of the package without spilling too much out and having only 2 or 3 uses total compared to everything else. Bit of an unthoughtout design there.

Rimmel Lycra Lash Extender mascara
My mom uses this all the time so I thought id try it out. Its not bad actually, its nice and black, gives length and some volume to my lashes, but wasnt my favourite. Ive nevr heard anyone talk about this one though which I find odd as its actually a pretty decent mascara.

Annabelle Liquid Liner in blackout
Holy grail liner. Ive been using this stuff for years and always go back to it. Its fault proof. Easy to use having a nice felt tip that makes making any sized line quick and painless. Using this ive gotten doing my liner down in probably under 30 seconds, which is quite a difference in comparison to my attempts with the gel liner I was using from maybelline. Although I like that too, I just find this easier.

Matrix Biolage Exquisite Micro-Oil Shampoo and Conditioner
These are new from the Biolage range, along with a hair oil which you will see in a future post. These contain moringa oil, which I can honestly say ive never heard of, that are supposed to replensih the hair leaving it silky, smooth and shiny using a lightweight formula to avoid build up on the hair. Its paraben free if thats something you look for in a product. I cant say a whole lot about this as you cant get a real feel for how it works with such small amount of product, but they seem decent. The oil however is awesome.

Etre Mandarin Hand and Body Lotion
I got this in one of the kiosks in the mall years ago in a set. The scent is lovely and citrusy. It contains natural humectants and antioxidant botanicals; orange. grapefruit and witch hazel with marine collagen and minerals mined from the dead sea. Said to be a natural source of beauty from the times of king solomon and cleopatra! It was a decent lotion. Nice for spring and summer when your skin isnt too try, and the scent is nice without being too strong and overpowering.

mini Body Shop Body Butter in candied ginger
I got this last christmas a gift, and not gonna lie I hate the scent. It took until now for me to use because of this. I was excited to try a body butter, but not so happy that the scent made me wanna plug my nose.  Its not something id pick for myself and im glad it was only a small size of I dont think I would of made it through the whole tub. I was using a fair amount of this after showering in hope to get through it fast, but because of that I think I used a bit too much and it wasnt sinking into the skin very well, where if I touched my chest for example, I could feel a residue still on the skin. Id love to try a different scent, but as for now im glad to be rid of this. Now I just have the matching body wash to use up..

Maybelline 24 Hour Super Stay Concealer

Ive had this concealer for a while and as the current one im using is running low, I thought id try this one out again since it wasnt getting any use. After applying, I knew why I never used it and it just sat in my collection.
This concealer is extremely drying. It is creamy when blending in, but seems to dry to a weird consistency. When under my eyes, the skin doesnt feel like skin anymore( if that even makes sense). It is so dry and tight feeling, it just didnt seem right to wear. I also think I got a shade lighter than I probably should have which makes the under eye area look white, but thats my own fault. However, I am quite pale that I cant imagine who this would suit. Long story short, I think this is horrible and  wouldnt recommend trying it.

Korres Lip Butter in Quince

With the weather getting colder, ive been breaking out the lipbalms to help with the dryness of my lips. Having heard many good things about the Korres lip butters, I decided to try one in the colour Quince. It is a nice pinky shade that adds a slight tint to the lips, which I quite like as I can put it on without being afraid that my lips are too bright or needing a mirror to see what im doing. It has a scent I cannot describe, but is very nostalgic for me to something I had when I was younger and I cant quite put my finger on it. It feels very moisturising on the lips and leaves them feeling soft and smooth, which is exactly what I am looking for. I would love to try some of the other ones in the future, but I am enjoying this one and think its great for this time of year.

Revlon Colourstay Foundation

Ive heard many rave reviews on this foundation and never wanted to try it as it seemed to be used by people who liked more a matte look to their skin and I personally prefer a more natural, dewy finish. However, I was on the market for a heavier foundation as my bb cream wasnt cutting it as the weather was getting colder and my skin needed a little more coverage. This was on sale so I decided to give it a go and if I didnt like it, at least I didnt pay full price.

I went for shade 110 ivory, which seemed like the best shade at the time but actually is too pink for my yellow under-toned skin. Unfortunately I used the foundation for about a week before I realized this. I did like the coverage though and the finish actually wasnt as matte as I was expecting. During the colder months, my skin develops dry areas and makeup tends to accentuate these spots on my face so I expected to hate this foundation.

Because the colour is a little off for me, I have been mixing this with a bit of my marcelle bb cream in light to medium which is slightly dark for me, giving a perfect colour and a more natural look to the skin which I am a huge fan of. Together they give just enough coverage that it still looks like skin, an important thing for me as I dont like the cake face look, but then again who does? I think I might purchase the next shade up and see how that works for me, but otherwise I think this a nice foundation. But, it doesnt beat out Revlons Photoready in vanilla, the perfect shade match and finish I have found so far for my skin.

Wet n Wild Colour Icon Eyeshadows

in Kitten and Nutty

Looking through my makeuo collection, I came across these babies that I completely forgot about. Since moving, ive become lazy with my makeup and tend to use alot of the same things and only reach for the eyeshadows in my palette. But I use to enjoy using these and thought id give them a little love.

Let me start by saying the colour icon line is just awesome. Ive raved about their blushes before and think these are great for what, two bucks in the drugstore? Bargain. They have great colour payoff and have some nice colours although not a whole lot of options. My only problem, as you can see in the picture above, is that the brown one seems to break in the package for some reason, and I havent even travelled with them or dropped on the floor. Bit of a pain in the you know what, but for the price I guess you cant really complain.

Tigi Bed Head Urban Antidotes Level 2 Recovery Shampoo + Conditioner

As someone who colours and styles their hair often, keeping soft and healthy hair is something that can be difficult at times. Damaged hair comes easy from excessive heat from blow dryers, flat irons and curling irons and no one wants to deal with the straw-like hair that can sometimes come from doing so. Fortunately, Tigi has a shampoo targeted towards different damage levels; 1 for normal hair, 2 for dry and damaged hair, and 3 for weak and brittle hair. These come in two sizes- 250 ml tubes or 750 ml pump bottles.

Tigi claims to strengthen and bring shine to your damaged locks, with turbo hydration molecules to bring moisture. Now obviously a shampoo and conditioner cant magically repair your damage and give you healthy hair again, but it can help to strengthen and give the appearance and texture of healthy hair. I had high hopes for these as I heard good things, and wasnt disappointed. The scent is lovely- a fruity aroma that cannot be described, that lasts in the hair. I really enjoy catching a wiff of my hair throughout the day. Apart from smelling nice, I find that my hair has a noticeably softer texture. I leave the conditioner on a few minutes and come through, and it leaves my hair feeling soft and easy to manage. I have been using these for a few months now and will definitely purchase this again, although I definitely wont need to for a while with the size of these bottles. Id love to try some of their other shampoos as well and would love to know which ones you like if youve tried any!

Empties #4

Unfortunately my empties got thrown out before I had a chance to snap a pick, but regardless here it was i've used up.. that I can remember.

Softsoap Strawberry Scrub body wash
I love this stuff. It smells amazing and is super moisturizing on your skin. It has small exfoliating beads in it, which are very gentle on the skin.

Organix Moroccan Argan Oil conditioner
A lot of people talk about Organix products, the coconut stuff specifically. I wanted to try something from their line and went with this conditioner. It is sulfate free- good for colour treated hair, which is why I tried it. Honestly, it wasnt anything special. Unless you leave it on a few minutes, it doesnt leave your hair that soft. It wasnt something I was wowed by and wouldnt recommend it. I ended up using the last little bit to shave my legs with.

Nivea Sunny Melon Oil body wash
This contains oil pearls to soften and paper the skin. It smells like honey dew melon which is amazing, and leaves the skin feeling soft and doesnt leave a tight feeling on the skin. I think this would be perfect for winter when your skin is drier and needs more moisture.

cotton rounds
Not much to say about this.

Sweet Almond Milk body butter
I cant remember the brand name of this, but it was nothing special. I got it on sale a good while ago and decided it was finally time to use it up. The scent was not that pleasant and
I wouldnt buy it again.

SPAresource tangerine hand cream
This stuff smells lovely. The cream is nice, it doesnt leave a greasy residue. I think I would prefer the scent as a body lotion though as it gets a bit irritating smelling it on your hands all day.

lady speed stick mini deoderant
I get minis from the dollar store to carry around in my bag with me. Theyre great for travel or when you want to freshen up during the day. This one smells like strawberries which id really nice.

Korres Vitamin E Face Primer

Ive never used a primer before as I never thought I needed one. I decided to give this Korres Vitamin E primer a try and was pleasantly surprised at the results. It has a very mild scent that I can not describe, but when applied you cant smell it at all. Its light and dries in almost instantly.
Usually, my blush kind of wears off throughout the day, which I dont mind as I dont usually have that long of days anyway so its not a big deal to me, but it may be to you. The first thing I noticed when I went to remove my makeup at night after using this, was that my blush lasted. Im not someone who likes to reapply their makeup throughout the day, so this was a nice surprise. Also, my foundation looked pretty much as it did when I applied in the morning. I didnt have the highest expectations to be completely honest, even though this had high rating from what I had read. I never thought I needed a primer as I dont have bad skin, that if my makeup wears off a little, it never really bothered me. But I have been enjoying using this on long days and would recommend it for anyone looking for a nice primer.

NYC Sunny Bronzer

Everybody raves about this extremely affordable drugstore blush from NYC. I bought this over a year ago to try it out and was a little disappointed. Everyone claims it suits all skin tones and isnt too orangey on the skin. But I have too disagree. On my pale skin, this comes off very orange and if im not extremely careful, can give a dirty look to my cheek. Not attractive. Unfortunately, for whiteys like myself, I do not think this is a very good colour choice, but luckily it only cost me at $2.99 to figure out. I have still been using this with a very light hand, but will definitely be on the look out for a better suited colour for my complexion. Any recommendations would be greatly appreciated.

Annabelle Blush in Rosewood

From one of my favourite affordable brands, is the Annabelle blush in #18 Rosewood. It is a beautiful rosey pink shade that I think would look great on all skin tones. It is highly pigmented- just a tap of your brush and you have enough for one cheek. I think it would be great year round, as it gives a nice wake-me-up look to face and nice pop of colour. I definitely see this being a staple in my collection and would recommend it to anyone. Annabelle blushes are sold in drugstores for $7-8 canadian.

Maybelline Eyestudio Gel Liner

Eyeliner is one of my favourite makeup items. I started out with pencil years ago, discovered liquid and had been using it for years until recently, when I decided to venture  into the world of gel liners. I had heard many raves about the maybelline one, so I picked up the black one have been using it the past few months. It definitely requires a little more of a precise hand than my beloved liquid liner, but I have been enjoying the look it gives in comparison. It is slightly softer looking and has good colour pay off. Most importantly, it lasts throughout the day and isnt hard to remove at the end of the day. Also, I see this pot lasting longer than pencil or liquid products would. An A+ product in my opinion.
What are your favourite liners, id love to hear your input.

La Roche-Posay Hydreane Legere

Another La Roche Posay product ive been using is their Hydreane Legere, light moisturizing facial cream. I have been enjoying using this at night, as its still quite hot weather and applying heavy creams at night any time other than the winter is one, not necessary for my skin, and two, too much of a pain in the you know what to wait to sink in. I love this because like it says, is light. It sinks in quickly and leaves my skin nice and smooth. It has a very light scent that I cant describe, but I cant imagine it being a problem for anyone.

My only complaint about this is the size. A 40ml tube is awfully small in my opinion for the price, seeming to me as what would be a sample or travel size. However, a little goes a long way and I suppose it will last a sufficient amount of time, I just wish they had a larger size as well. Overall Ive been enjoying this and may try the Hydreane Riche in the colder months.

sad day

It was a sad day today. My dog has been sick and unable to stand, let alone walk and hasnt been eating or drinking much. A few weeks back we took her to the vet and she had a stomach tumor, but due to the fact that she had lost a lot of weight, she wasnt strong enough that surgery would be worth doing because she likely wouldnt come out of the anesthesia. Today, my parents took her back to the vet and I had to say my goodbyes this morning before I went to work. Sadly, she is no longer with us and we have all been very upset about it. I thought id just share a few photos because ive been looking through some and thought why not.
RIP Lydia, I love and miss you.

Annabelle Eyeshadows

If you live in Canada, you may be familiar with the drugstore brand Annabelle. I regularly use their liquid liner and have been a fan of their shadows for a while as well. They come individually in little pots reminiscent of macs, being the same size pans and all. They also sell select shades in pan form that can be put in a quad like I have above. I however, decided to depot the ones I had which is very easily done and as the pans are magnetic, you dont need to glue magnets on the back as you would with a mac one.

I have 4 shades- Aura, Cloud, Charcoal, and Black. They have great pigmentation and dont have any fallout. My favourite shade as you can see is cloud, a shimmery taupe.

The shadows are around $4-6 depending where you buy from, and the quad was about $8 if I remember correctly. For nice shadows on a budget, these are a definite recommendation from me.

Viktor and Rolf Flowerbomb

An explosive bouquet of fresh and sweet notes arrives with perfume Flowerbomb, introduced in 2005, as an oriental perfume.
The bottle is in the shape of diamond-granate, alluding at the fragrance itself- explosive, sophisticated and glamorous.

Top notes of bergamot and green tea, a heart is floral and opulent with intensive, sweet and pure Sambac jasmine, seductive Centifolia rose, freesia and Cattleya orchid. Musk and patchouli in a base wrap us with an oriental scent, while its milky and powdery notes gently fondle the skin.

I had heard many great things about Flowerbomb and while in sephora I passed it and decided to have a sniff. Not surprising at all, I loved it and decided to get it rather than what I had gone in there for in the first place. It has a more sophisticated smell than what I typically would go for (warm, sweet, fruity scents) which is new to me but I think would be very nice for night. The bottle is beautiful and is available in three sizes- 30, 50 and 100 ml. I went for the 30ml (1oz.) bottle and was slightly disappointed at the size for the hefty $85 price tag. Regardless, I think it is a nice scent and im sure I will get a lot of use out of it.

La Roche-Posay Effeclar Purifying Micellar Water

Ive heard many people speak and rave about micellar waters over the past few months that I have been sucked into seeing what all the hype was about. If you're not already filled in as to what it is, a micellar water is a blend of water and fine particles of oil that are free of emulsifiers that absorb any dirt and makeup from the skins surface leaving it thoroughly cleansed and smooth. It is gentle enough to use on the eyes  for makeup removal aswell, and is used prior to using a facial cleanser.

Many people have raved about Bioderma, but I only found a tiny bottle in store and couldnt justify its price for the size so I went with the La Roche-Posay Effeclar. Lets face its, its basically a bottle of fancy water, so for twenty some odd dollars I want a good amount! That being said, yes it is like wiping water on your face when applying- its light and dries quickly, but its like magic water! It removes every trace off my face, and while I dont use it as my eye makeup remover, any traces left behind on my eyes are taken away easily and my entire face is left clean and smooth. All you do is apply some to a cotton pad and wipe your face clean. I have been enjoying using this every night and theres a good change ill be purchasing another micellar water when ive finished this one up, but for how excited people get over these things, I dont quite get it. It is just a cleanser after all.

Summer favourites

Marcelle BB Cream in light to medium
I did a blog post on this here. This is really nice for a light amount of coverage in the hot weather, and leaves a really nice finish.

Mac Camomile and Warming Trend Ive been wearing these pretty much everyday this summer. I put camomile all over my lid most days, but when I want a little more colour I add warming trend to the outer portion of the lid. It gives a subtle amount of colour which is great for hot summer days when I dont want to wear too much makeup but I want to brighten up my eyes a bit.

Benefit Creaseless Cream shadow in Sippin n Dippin
Ive had this a while and never hot much use out of it. The colour is a coraly orange with s gold duo-chrome which is beautiful, but when youre super tired or looking really dull its not always the most attractive shade. I think its nice for summer though and use it as a base under to give a pop to the colour.

Revlon Lipbutter in creme brulee
Im lazy in summer and dont like to spend a lot of time getting ready. This is an effortless lip colour as its really subtle.

Mac Mocha blush
Ive been wearing this pretty much everyday since I got it I dont know how long ago. Its nice for summer though as its not the most pigmented blush. It gives just the right amount of a berry toned pink to the cheeks that looks like a natural flush.

Life coconut and mango lipbalm
The smell of this stuff is just amazing. The consistency is very interesting- it applies almost glossy on the lips but feels really smooth, not something im used to in a lipbalm.

Marcelle BB Cream

I was introduced to Marcelle by Glossybox a few months ago and wanted to try their bb cream, having heard good things. It is said to have 8-in-1 multi-benefits; evening out skin tone, immediate and long term hydrating benefits, protects from premature aging and environmental stresses, promote skin regeneration, control shine, soothe and calm the skin, reduce the appearance of imperfections and provide an anti-dull radiant complexion.

There are only two shades- light to medium and medium to light, which I was skeptical about and typically when there isnt much of a shade range, fair skin tones like myself (lighter than an NC15) usually are left out in being able to use the product. However, I went on a whim and bought it anyway to see if it would work on my skin tone. When I first began applying, I thought there was no way this would blend in and not make me look like I had no idea how to match my face to my makeup, but once blending it in I knew it was workable. Because its summer, my body is typically tanner than my face(dont ask me why) , and therefore having a slightly darker foundation helped to even that out well for me. Not once have I had someone come up me or point out that I have a mask line on my neck or that I looked like an oompa loompa. I take this as a good sign.

The consistency of the bb cream is much like a thicker moisturizer. It was odd to get used to at first, being used to liquidy foundations, which meant using a brush was not a good idea as it would absorb all the product. A small amount is enough to cover the face where it looks natural and not overdone. The finish is a semi matte, its feels light on the skin and gives just enough coverage for everyday. If youre someone with problematic skin such as acne or scarring, this is probably not something you'd be interested in, but for something light for the summer time, I think this is great.

Whether it does half the things it claims, I cant really say. All I know is it evens out my face, feels moisturizing that you can skip that step if you like, and has a nice natural look to it. I am impressed with this BB cream, but once the colder months come I know im not going to be able to use until next summer.

Dove Damage Therapy Conditioner

As someone who colours and uses heat on their hair, damaged, dry hair is something I know well. In attempts to make the texture of my hair feel a lot nicer, conditioning is a must and possibly my favourite thing to use on my hair. In my opinion, you dont need to spend a fortune to find a moisturizing conditioner. Other professionals may not agree with me, but I have found many lower end products that have worked well at making my hair soft to the touch that I cant comprehend spending more than necessary for virtually the same results.

This one from Dove was actually my moms. She bought it on a whim, and when I was blowdrying her hair after her first use a few months ago, I couldnt help but notice how soft her usually dry hair felt. Not to mention it also smelt awesome and was the majority of the reason I snatched it from her shower to try on my own hair. I cant explain the scent, but by golly is it nice and if your in the store and see this I recommend having a sniff and seeing for yourself.

This leaves my hair uber soft, that I just want to run my fingers through it all day. This does claim to restore the hairs softness, which is does temporarily but will not actually aid in the overall structure of the hair., which I think seems a bit misleading with the lines name.

Overall, I think this is a great conditioner and would recommend it to anyone with dry hair in need of moisture.

Empties #3

La Senza Body Kiss Indulgent kiss me cupcake Swirl Cream
I loved this stuff. It smells amazing (like cake!) and leaves my skin feeling super soft and moisturized. I can see myself repurchasing this when i finish my other body creams.

Rimmel Volume Accelerator mascara

I bought this after using the original accelerator mascara that I really like. The only thing lacking for me from that one was volume. So when I saw this existed I ran towards the store. But it is awful. It does absolutely nothing to my lashes - the brush doesnt even glide through the lashes with the oddly shaped brush. I dont usually like throwing out products I havent used and usually suck it up and use it anyway, but after sitting in my makeup drawer for months, its time for this to go in the bin.

Burts Bees Thoroughly Therapeutic Honey and Grapeseed Oil hand cream
I did a review on this here where I expressed my hate for this product. I hate the smell and taste of honey, and this has a very strong, overwhelming honey scent that lingers on the skin for what feels like forever to me. Because it was kind of expensive, I refused to let it go to waste and forced myself to finish it. But about a quarter left in the bottle, I couldnt take it anymore and decided to just throw it away and stop torturing myself. The product wasnt even that good anyway.

Stiff Hair Stck Up Rock Hard Gel
Ive had this for years. I used to love using gel when I left my hair natural, scrunching it into my hair to get nice waves. But over the years my hair has lost a lot of its curl and I stopped wearing it natural, thus leaving a lot of products sitting around unused. This had very little left so I figured Id just through it out. I did enjoy this back in the day, but when I want to wear natural waves, I prefer spray products now.

Avon Liquid Liner in charcoal
This was a nice eyeliner, a dupe in my opinion to my holy grail Annabelle liner. It has a felt tip and is easy to use and lasts all day. I wouldnt buy this again only because the annaelle liner is easier to get a hold of, but I would recommend it.

Revlon Photoready in vanilla
This is my favourite foundation. It is the only foundation to date that I have found that matches my skin tone perfectly. It leaves a slightly dewy finish to skin, and looks very natural. As you can see in the picture I have tape around the bottom as I dropped this on the floor and the bottom broke but still managed to stay together so I didnt have to say goodbye to it just yet. It is a whopping $20- which for drugstore foundation is pricey to me, but well it worth it. Will definitely be buying again.

Degree Nature Effects Orange Flower and cranberry deoderant
Degree is my favourite brand for deoderant. That may seem a it weird, but if youve ever had white marks on your clothes or skin youll know why. This goes on invisible, which every brand claims but most lie about, and smell so nice that throughout the day several times I have caught a sniff of this and wondered what smelled so nice. I must say it is surprising when you discover that it is your armpits, as usually when youre smelling something from that area its not a good thing. Ive tried of few scents of the nature effects and they have all smelled lovely.

Bonnebelle lipbalm
Ive had this for a while along with a lot of other lipbalms and figured it was time to use them up. The packaging of this reminds me of lighter, the way it pushes the product up which is kind of odd. I highly doubt they still make these and wouldnt really want to repurchase it even if they did. It didnt do much to the lips.

Ive really been enjoying watching and reading peoples empties posts, so if you have one id love to see it!

healthy hands, nails and cuticles

Since moving, ive found myself under a bit of stress. And when im stressed, I pick at my nails and cuticles. It looks ugly and drives everybody insane who sees, especially my boyfriend. So ive been paying special attention to my hands lately in hopes of making my hands a little prettier.

Buffing Block
If youre not familiar with a buffing block, they are four sided files used on the surface of the nail to improve texture and appearance. They help increase blood circulation beneath the nail bed allowing healthy nail growth and strong nails. Doing so will also aid in the longevity of your nail polish, which is a plus.

Etre Cuticle Oil
Ive had this stuff for years and never used it. I got it in a set from one of the kiosks in the mall (the ones where the employees hassle you as you walk by into trying/buying their product). It includes sunflower oil, grapeseed oil, sweet almond oil, apricot kernel oil, and many other ingredients to nourish cuticles. The stuff has a bit of an odd scent, and once ive used it up I plan on trying something different, but it works nontheless.

LaVanilla Healthy Body Butter in Pure Vanilla
Ive had this hand cream for a while and had forgotten about it until recently. It has a pleasant vanilla scent which lasts on the skin and sinks in quite quickly. It has lovely ingredients in it including shea and cocoa butter for moisturization, goji berry kakadu plum to deliver 30 essential vitamins and minerals for healthy and smooth skin. I apply this as my final step to moisturize my hands and my hands are done!

song of the week: rush of blood to the head

I have been loving a little bit of old school Coldplay lately, so this weeks song is going to be just that.

my room

Im moving! And by I, I mean my family as im nowhere need ready to move out yet.  I am a little sad as this is my childhood house- ive been here since I was a year old and this tiny town is all I know. So moving is slightly scary but exciting non-the-less as I have been dying to get out of this town a while now. That being said, I thought I would share some shots of what my current room looks like. Ive always loved this room regardless of its odd shape and the fact that there was never a good place to set up my furniture in the way that I want it, which is why it looks really random with a tv sitting on a nightstand, etc.

Over the past few months, ive made small changes for show purposes when the house was going up for sale. The mirror and pictures were put up after sitting around for practically a year to make the walls less bare, and some furniture has been taken out of the room. I had been packing when I took these photos so the other side of the room is filled with boxes if you were wondering, which I dont think anyone really wants to see.

The bed spread is from walmart, along with mirror. Dresser and night table are from ikea years ago and are not sold anymore, and the chandelier is also from ikea.

I am now in my new house, hating my red walls and living out of boxes. I finally got internet today so posts should be more frequent, yay!

Mac Wedge

Wedge is a medium brown with a matte finish. It is very warm-toned and can come off a bit orange on my eyes. If im going for a subtle eye look, I like to put this in my crease or use it to blend out other colours. I know a lot of people that are also fair in complexion like to use this as a contour shade, although I have never tried myself. Personally this is one of my least favourites of my mac shadows but I do still get a lot of use out of it.
