Pixi Tinted Brilliance Balm in Radiant Rose

Every brand has these big chubby lip products these days. Ive heard of Pixi from the uk bloggers but never saw it here it canada until target came. I remember someone saying these were one of their favourites so when I saw them in the store I thought id give it a try. I went for this pinky shade in no. 5 Radiant Rose. Unlike a lot of the other balms this one is not meant to stain the lips, its just a tinted balm. Its super moisturising on the lips and has a minty smell, almost like toothpaste which is nice because it will keep you smelling fresh and clean. The colour is more pigmented than I was expecting for a balm. Its very buildable but can look very glossy if too much is applied, which isnt my favourite look. Id like to try more shades because I dont wear alot of pinks to be honest, especially not during this time of year. Have you tried these? What are your thoughts.

Winter Base

Winter is the worst time for my skin. For the majority of the year I have very easy going skin, I dont have any problems because I have normal skin. But once the cold Canadian weather returns, it starts to get dry, tight, and itchy. When it comes to foundation I have to watch what I use to avoid prominent dry patches.

The number one important thing for me is to exfoliate to remove the dry skin. I do this at night so I dont have red skin in the morning. A good moisturiser is important aswell. I use a heavier one at night so when I wake up my skin is smooth and hydrated, and apply the La-Roche Posay Hydreane Legere, a light hydrating moisturiser in the morning. Next is priming. I find this makes a big difference because it smooths everything out to make the foundation apply nicely. My favourite is Laura Mercier Hydrating Primer. Its kinda pricey but is the best ice tried.

As for the actualy foundation, right now im using Revlon Nearly Naked. This is definitely not my favourite foundation but it gives a light coverage and a glowy or dewy look to the skin. I find the finish works well with my skin. Anything too matte just accentuates any dry patches which is exactly what I try to avoid. I like the coverage this gives- my skin still looks like skin. Although the colour is a tad too dark for me which is super annoying, though after blending down the neck you cant even tell.

What are your favourite foundations for dry skin? Id love to know.

Nyx Terra Cotta

My blush collection is slowly growing and ive been trying to branch out to more colours. Ive heard about this shade from Nyx for years and never really thought it would be something id like. I have a blush from Mac in Peachtwist, which is a burnt orange with a gold shimmer, simialr but this one so I thought why not. I know it looks scary in the swatch but I assure you, its beautiful on the cheeks and not that intense (I heavily swatched just for photographing purposes). It gives a beautiful hint of colour that on my fair skin, almost gives a contoured look. I think its a great colour for those dont-want-to-wear-alot-of-makeup days because its fairly natural on the skin but gives a really nice healthy glow. Ive heard its a dupe for Nars Douceur, though ive never tried it myself so I cant say. But for about a third of the price, this is a great one to try.

Mac Shroom

Ive said it many times, when it comes to eyeshadow I like it simple. A champagne shimmer is always on my eyes, whether its all over the lid or just in the inner corners. My current fav and also most used shadow in general is Mac Shroom. Its a beautiful shade, pigmented and looks great alone or paired with literally any colour. I love it with Espresso, a matte brown, blended softly into the outer portion of the lid, or Wedge and Omega for a more natural look. The colour is very versitile and a must for your collection. At least in my opinion.

Essie No Chips Ahead

Ive never been a big nail person. I enjoy painting them different colours but I never seem to have nice nails. Ive always been a nail bitter, and my job makes it hard to have nice looking hands and perfect nails for very long. Ive been trying out Essies No Chips Ahead for the past two or three months to see if it helps keep my nails looking nicer for longer. I havent heard the greatest things about this one but in my opinion its not bad. It gives a nice shine to the nails and has helped my polish last up to a few days. As someone who uses their hands alot, I was pleasantly surprised that it worked. I dont know what people dont like about it, but im sure their are other great options for a top coat out there, probably for a more affordable price. Im not sure its worth the price necessarily, but I will continue to use it and maybe try another brand next time.

Stella by Stella McCartney

Can we just take a moment to talk about how great rollerballs are? Not only are they great to carry around with you on the go, but if you love trying new scents theyre perfect so you dont have twenty bottles of perfume taking over your life. I always find scents I like but dont want to deglect the others I have or spend a ton on something I may decide I actually dont like all that much (im looking at you flowerbomb).
I decided to go for Stella, as I hear about this possibly more than any scent and was very curious as to what it smelt like. I was undecided in the store, but figured the rollerball was a good way to try it out and see what I thought. I believe it was around $28 at Sephora. I find it to be very feminine with notes of rose, peony, mandarin, rose absolute and amber. Its different from my usual fruity scents, but I think the mandarin in there that helps tone down the floral, which I wouldnt usually go for. Im awful at explaining scents but I have been liking this and now I know why everyone and their mother has it. Although its not beat Honey at being my most worn lately.

This Week Im Loving.. #14

Ive been using Revlon Nearly Naked again lately as ive seem to of developed quite a few foundations. This ones great for a natural glowy look, which is what I always go for. Its not heavy on the skin, but it is a tad darker than I need it which is my only complaint. On the eyes ive been going quite simple- a champagne shadow, liner and mascara. My fav shadow is something new, Mac Shroom, a gorgeous champagne shimmer. Yes I go for alot of champagne, barely noticeable shades but I think they make my eyes pop without much fuss. With that ive been loving Maybelline Eyestudio Gel Liner in blackest black. I go back and forth between loving this. Along with another favourite, Sephoras Pro Bent Liner brush, this is a lot easier to apply than it was with other brushes ive tried. The angle makes application really easy. I can keep my eye open and look in the mirror while applying to make sure the line is straight and not too thick. The liner itself is really easy to work with, super black and lasts all day. together these are a perfect match for me.

Bumble and Bumble Surf Spray

Ive been on the hunt for the best products for enhancing natural wavy hair and have been wanting to try B&B's Surf Spray for years. Ive been playing around with it trying it on wet/dry hair, alone or with other products and think I have found my favourite way to use it. Alone is okay but I find my hair is a bit frizzier than id like. But with a small amount of Its a 10 Miracle Leave In Potion followed by around ten sprays to towel dried, unbrushed hair, or with my favourite Tigi Catwalk Curls Rock Amplifier cream and a few spritzes of B&B to finish, I get both a nice wave and tamed frizz. Although when im really lazy and not doing anything special ill just use this alone and do get a pretty decent curl.
Overall I think this is a pretty good beachy hair spray but probably not my favourite product ever.

Laura Mercier Hydrating Primer

Ive had a lot of long days lately, and something as someone who doesnt like to reapply makeup throughout the day, primer has become an important step to make sure my face is fading away as the day goes on. My go-to the last month or so has been Laura Mercier's Hydrating Primer. There are a few different ones, but this one is targeted more towards dry/dehydrated skin, which I definitely get this time of year. It helps your makeup glide on, fills in pores and really does hydrate the skin. A little goes a long way, so even though its kinda pricey, it should last a long time.

All in all this does exactly what its supposed to do. It keeps my makeup on for hours and hours. I especially notice how my blush lasts until I take it off, where as by the night its usually fades away to almost nothing. This is especially good for me as it keeps my pale skin looking more lively. It is a silicone based primer so if your skin doesnt get along with that, this probably wont be the product for you. Overall this is my favourite primer ive tried so far and it is definitely worth the high price tag.

This Week Im Loving.. #13

What a busy week this has been! I worked six days and have basically had no time to do anything else. My room is top of the list when I get some free time. Ive been liking painting my nails because theyre finally growing long again. Ive been loving some colours from Rimmels Lasting Finish Pro line, which are really nice drugstore polishes that are opaque in one coat. I wore Red Rock for a while and changed it over to Steel Grey, an old fav, just a few days ago. Both are nice fall colours, a deep red and prupley brown.
On the eyes ive been enjoying some Maybelline products. Ive been lazy with eyeshadow and using a bit of the Colour Tattoo in Barely Branded all over the lid and lining with Eye Studio Lasting Drama in black, which I rarely use just because it takes a lot more effort and patience to apply it correctly. But it is a really nice long lasting liner. On the cheeks ive been using Nars Sin, of course, and on the lips Mallygirl gloss in Starburst. I dont know why ive all of a sudden been into gloss, but this one isnt sticky and the colour is a natural peachy pink thats easy to just throw on.

Thats it for this week, Happy Thanksgiving if youre celebrating!

September Favourites

I was in Scotland the last half of the month, so I didnt use or get to try many new things. My favourite scent was Stella by Stella McCartney. I purchased the rollerball for my trip because I wanted something travel friendly and always hear about the scent and wanted to try it. Its different from the scents I usually go for- more floral than fruity, but nontheless a nice scent.

To keep my makeup lasting all day, Laura Mercier Hydrating Foundation Primer has been my go to. Its helps my makeup to glide on and keeps it looking frsh all day long. I especially notice that my blush stays on, and speaking of blush I have two favs this month- Mac Peachtwist and Nars Sin. Peachtwist is a gorgeous burnt orange with a gold shimmer, a great fall colour, probably my favourite for this time of year. Sin is a little more wintery of a colour as its really good for warming up the skin. Its a lovely mauvey plum with a slight shimmer. A must buy.For lips, ive been wearing an array of colours but really loved Revlon Matte in Mauve It Over. A really easy everyday shade, good fall.

Hair wise, ive been using some new things. Redken Extreme Conditioner is protein based, used for damaged/ split hair. It smells nice and leaves myhair realy soft and manageable. I really want to try the shampoo and will definitely be buying the conditioner again in the future. Lastly, is Batiste Dry Shampoo. Ive tried the Treseme one and wasnt a fan of the scent of feeling it left my hair with. I could tell something was in my hair because it weighed it down and made it feel worse than before. Batiste actually works well at getting rid of the oil and added a bit of body to my hair. It also didnt leave a white residue on my hair that I could tell which is really good.

Now that I am back, I hope to get back into blogging again. I have quite a few things to do posts on so theres should be plenty of posts soon! I hope you had a good September.

Marc Jacobs Honey

Fellow fruity scent lovers, this ones for you. Marc Jacobs newest scent addition, Honey, is a delicious fruity floral that leaves you sniffing yourself many-a-times throughtout the day.
Featuring green pear, fruity punch and mandarin as the top notes, orange blossom, honeysuckle and peach in the middle, followed by vanilla, smooth woods and of course, honey to finish it off. The bottle is just beautiful, with striped butterflies and polka dots. It looks really pretty on my vanity.

When I first sprayed this on my wrist and walked around the mall, I kept catching a wiff and instantly fell in love. As my birthday was coming up I decided it was top on my list and ive been wearing it almost everyday since. It lasts well and isnt a really strong overpowering scent. A must sniff.

August Favs

This has been a busy month so I havent been using anything too exciting, not that I ever really do. Ill start off with my beloved Annabelle Cloud eyeshadow. Ive talked about this many many times so I wont go too into it, but as you can see from the amount of product left in the pan, this is well loved. Perfect champagne shimmer. Blushwise, theres Nyx Mocha. Ill never understand there shade naming as  this is definitely not mocha coloured, but it is a really nice pink. A little goes a long way with this so it will last a long time. Because im super lazy when it comes to cleaning my brushes and I often go far too long without a good cleanse, this Sephora Daily Brush Cleaner has been helping me out with the quickie clean. A few spritz's on the brush, swirled around on a tissue and its good for another use.

Ive been trying out the Avene Cleanance Exfoliating Mask for the past few weeks. Its actualy designed for for oily, acne prone skin but I thought it couldnt do any harm to try. Its said to regulate sebum production, unclog pores and exfoliate dead skin cells. Its applied to the damp skin and left for five minutes, then exfoliated with wet fingers and washed off. I like it because its gentle and doesnt leave your skin red raw. Its not a miracle product but ive been liking using it.
Lastly, is my new favourite perfume- Marc Jacobs Honey. This has a really nice fruity scent combo, and as ive said before those are my kinda scents. I cant smell honey in it, which to me is good as I hate honey, but really love this stuff. The bottle is gorgeous and I recommend having a sniff in store if you see it. A full review with scent notes will be up this week.

It is quickly coming to the end of summer and im quite sad as I feel we were a bit jipped with the crap weather weve had until just recently. My month was spent mostly working or trying to catch up on videos and missed tv shows so this wasnt the most exciting of months, but I hope everyone has had a good August and summer. Leave me your favourite things from the last month, id love to hear them

Rose Passion

From Rimmels Lasting Finish line, Rose Passion is a really pretty raspberry red. This is a really good colour for my pale complexion- I find the orangey reds looks a little off on me. I find reds to be hard to apply neatly, so I use my Real Techniques Detailer brush and apply a light layer of this to my lips and it lasts really well. This gives more of a stain, so it wears better throughout the day and doesnt come off as you talk, sip a drink, etc. This is probably my favourite red shade I have and actually have the guts to wear. Plus finding it on sale for $2.50 makes it even better!

This Week Im Loving.. #12

This has been a busy week so I havent been doing been doing anything intersting with my makeup really, hence why theres nothing all too exciting this week. Ive been using my trusty Annabelle Eyeshadow in Cloud as an all over colour a lot this week. Its a beautiful champagney shimmer, and as you can tell by the amount I have left, I really do like this colour. Ive been applying that with a Sigma E60 Flat Shader brush, which is really great because it applies the colour to my whole lid easily. I dont use this brush too much but I think im going to start to now. A slightly boring thing, but I picked up the Sephora Daily Makeup Brush Cleaner just a few days ago and it has made my life a lot easier. Im really bad at brush cleaning. I need to invest in more than one of each brush, but a cheaper alternative is a daily cleanser. Just a few spritz's of this and then swirled onto a tissue and majority of product residue is removed, allowing use for another colour, or just a quick clean for use the next day. It has a nice smell also which makes it nice to use.

Maybelline Age Rewind Dark Circle Eraser

Dark under eyes are the bane of my existence. Ive had them since I was a kid so im used to them being there, but with the lack of sleep I get, they can make me look like I have black eyes. Ive been trying to find a really good under eye concealer for a while and so many people have only good things to say about the Maybelline Age Rewind Dark Circle Eraser, so had to try it.

I like the twist up packaging because it ensures you use up all the product, rather than having to cut it open when you cant scrape it out with the applicator anymore, or throw away probably a quarter of the product. The consistency is light, unlike say Benefits Erase Paste, which is thicker and creamy and ends up creasing because of this. This has very minimal creasing, and covers pretty well.  I got the shade light which is a perfect match to my skin, but I wish id gotten fair as it would offer more of a brightening effect to the eyes. This is of course my own fault, I just wasnt sure it was going to end up being too light and be unwearable. I do like the coverage it gives. I wouldnt say it "erases" my dark circles but it definitely makes me look more alive. I like to apply a little bit of my Maybelline Dream Lumi Touch Hilighting concealer over it to brighten the area a little bit, and the combination has been workng well for me. If you have an under eye darkness problem, I would say this a pretty good affordable option for you.

I havent done an outfit post in months and I miss them, so I thought id do one for you today. I got this dress about five years ago so you wont be able to find it, but I just love the print and colours. Also, I gave myself a full bang the other day and im still trying to get used to it. I forgot to get a shot of the sheos but they were just black flats.

This Week Im Loving.. #11

Maybelline Age Rewind Dark Circle Eraser
Ive been trying this out for a week or so. Im liking it so far. It covers pretty well but the colour could have been a bit lighter so for. Post coming on this.

Maybelline Colour Tattoo in Barely Branded
This is just a really easy all over the lid champagney colour. Ssmetimes ill use it with a brown shadow or even tough as taupe on the outer portion of the lid for more definition. It makes me look more awake and I think everyone needs this colour.

Rimmel Lash Accelerator
I forgot about this mascara because I started using the Maybelline Rocket and loving the fullness that gives, but its a real pain in the ass to get off so I went back to this one and if I want a bit more drama ill layer the other one of top. alone it goves great length and a more natural look to the lashes- it never clumps, but sometimes I just want more oomph.

Marc Jacobs Honey
My mum got me this for my birthday and im in love with it. The scent is fruity and very me. As you may know from other posts I hate the scent of honey so I was surprised I liked this, but its so far down in the scent notes thats you cant really decifer it. Again, post on this coming with all notes and a proper description but definitely my favourite thing lately. If you havent already, go take a sniff of this.

Empties #10

The Body Shop Shea Sugar Scrub
I loved this stuff. It wasnt one of those oily scrubs, nor is it really abrasive. The shea on it helps to leave the skin feeling soft and smooth. I will be picking this up again soon, maybe in a different scent next time.

Nuxe Micellar Water sample
I got this in a travel set and was really excited to have a mini micellar water to bring with my when I go to my boyfriends, etc. Unfortunately I didnt really get along with this one. Micellar waters are supposed to feel like water, but this leaves a tacky feeling under my eyes and actually kind of burns. When I used it, I would have to rinse my eyes off because it made my skin uncomfortable and tight. The rose scent also wasnt for me.

La Roche-Posay Effeclar Micellar Solution
Another micellar water, but this one I actually like. Its gentle on the skin and doesnt irritate my eyes or leave a sticky feeling on the skin. It removes makeup easily and is an overall great product. Ive already repurchased.

Naturelle Biotera Colour Care Intensive Reconstructor
I got this forever ago for a mere $2.99 in a beauty supply. Id never heard of the brand but thought for the price I couldnt go wrong. I dont know why I stopped using this, it is a nice 5 minute conditioning mask that helps to repair and protect the hair, aswell as prolong colour. It smells lovely and leaves the hair silky soft. I was on a mission to use it up but im kinda sad that I did because it was really nice to use.

Matrix Keratin Dose Shampoo and Conditioner Samples
Ive never been a fan of matrix shampoos on my hair but this one I actually got nice results from. It made my hair feel suoer soft and hydrated and I probably will eventually purchase when I use up some of the shampoos I have.

Alpen Jasmine Bath Salts
I uses another box of these bath salts. Nothing amazing really. It makes the bath smell nice but I cant say they do anything.

St Ives Mini 24-Hour Body Lotion
I was using this as a hand cream and it was a great little product. It isnt greasy and absorbs really quick, which was good for applications between clients at work. The shea butter and almond oil leave the skin soft and is a nice subtle scent.

Abonne samples
Nothing much to say about these I just wanted to use them up rather then throw them away. The eye cream was creamy, and  nice to apply but I prefer my This Works. Moisturiser wasnt that great and the toner I got about 2 uses out of so what can you say about that. The mask felt very tight on ther skin and uncomfortable to the fact I couldnt even keep it on the full 5 minutes. It was also hard to remove, especially those little exfoliating beads.

Tresemme Straightening Gel
Nothing to say about this. Im getting rid of my old drugstore haor products because I dont plan on ever using them and theyre kinda old too.

Live Clean Exotic Nectar Argan Oil
This claims to be 100% pure argan oil but it comes out sticky and can actually lather in my hands(!?) which I dont quite understand. It never felt like it did anything to my hair and was just adding product for no reason. Time to throw it out, dont buy this.

Lipsmackers Ice Creamies
Ive had this a long long time and keep forgetting to add it in my empties posts. This didnt last long but it smelt good- like cookie dough- and was smooth on the lips.

Battle of the Foundation Brushes

When it comes to applying your base, brushes play a big part in the impsct the foundation is going to have. On a lazy day ill just apply a BB cream with my fingers, but ive found that brushes work better at giving a flawless coverage to the skin. Ive been using the Sigma F80 Flat Top Kabuki for years and absolutely love it. Its dense, soft bristles make application super easy and fault proof. Ive never had a problem with this brush, although because of its density it can be a pain when it comes time for its cleaning.
A new favourite, as ive talked about a few times already, is the Real Techniques Buffing Brush. This brush is rounded and fluffier than Sigmas, and also not as dense. Its shape makes applying in areas such as the sides of the nose, chin, etc a lot easier and blends foundation in super quick. However I do find that it gives a lighter, more skin like coverage to the skin. I have been using this one only the past few weeks and while I do like the look it gives my skin, I think I might prefer the Sigma brush. Also, the buffing brush is not sold on its on, which is a bit annoying although the price point for four good quality brushes is a steal.

What is your opinion on these brushes and whats favourite foundation brush? Id love to hear back.

Pre-Birthday Pamper

Today is my 21st birthday! Since I was off yesterday I decided to give myself a pre-birthday pamper so when I woke up today id feel clean and refreshed.

Beginning with running the bath, I aqueezed a bit of the Bath and Body Works Mignight Pomegranite Bubble Bath into the water to create an amazing smelling, bubbly filled bathtub. While I waited for the bath to fill up, I removed my makeup with Avons Moisture Effective Makeup Remover Lotion, followed by La Roche-Posay Effeclar Purifying Micellar Water to remove any leftover makeup around the eyes as well as foundation. I then cleansed with the Simple Refreshing Facial Wash Gel and applied Antipodes Aura Manuka Honey Mask for some hydration and into the bath I went.

Between reading on my ipad, I exfoliated with The Body Shop Shea Butter Sugar Scrub and washed away the day with Fruits and Passion Pear Peony Shower Gel. After a good soak, I removed my mask and moisturized with the Fruits and Passion Pear Peony Quenching Butter, which smells devine and leaves the skin feeling soft.

I forgot while in the bath so I then used my pumice stone on my feet to make sure they were nice and smooth. This may not be the nicest thing to talk about but is important for me as I stand alot of the day for my job. After drying my feet and getting in my comfy pajamas , I removed my polish from my toes and went in with Sally Hansens Complete Salon Manicure in Dorien Grey, and Essie Ballet Slippers on my hands. To moisturise those babies, I used Curels Foot Therapy cream and threw on some socks to lock in the moisture. For my hands, Soap and Glory Hand Food. Lastly, I lit a candle and relaxed with a tv show catch up and some youtube videos.

This Week Im Loving.. #10

Ive come to the end of my beloved Revlon Photoready foundation -sob- and have been using Revlon Nearly Naked in its place. The coverage is lighter than Photoready and the colour, although the bottle on both says vanilla, is slightly darker than my skin tone where the other matches perfectly.I have been making it work though. I apply with my Real Techniques Buffing Brush which im still loving for application.
On the eyes ive been using an Elizabeth Arden eyeshadow duo that ive had forever. There is no name on it so I have no idea what its called, but the two shades are beautiful together and im sure you can find similar colours. A peachy champagne and a dark brown, both with shimmer, that make the eyes really pop and just look..wow. I cant help but grab this everyday and ill be sad when its used up as im sure you cant get it anymore.
Lastly is a perfume that ive had for a while but rarely use, Viktor and Rolf Flowerbomb. It was an impulse buy- I smelt it and just decided to get it. Probably mainly because everyone always talks about it, but after having it for a few days I wasnt completely sold on it. Its different to the scents I usually wear. I cant stand to see it go unused as it was quite expensive so ive been wearing it everyday this week and starting to really like it. Its pretty potent though so I only use one spritz and can smell it on myself throughout the whole day.

July Favourites

Ive been using a new shampoo, BedHead Urban Antidotes Level 1 Re-Energize shampoo.  It is designed for everyday use on 'normal hair in need of a pick me up'. It makes my hair feel really clean even after only one wash, and has a nice fresh scent. Another BedHead product is the Tigi Catwalk Curlesque Curls Rock Amplifier, a cream product used to enhance curl or wave. Ive been leaving my hair natural majority of the month, which is something I never used to do if I knew id be leaving the house. This has been my hair saviour. It tames my poof ball har, keeping it frizz free while helping my maintain a nice shape. about half a pump scrunched through the hair and im good to go. Easy, fuss free hair. Its been nice to not have to break out the straightener every morning, except for my bangs. To keep those in place, Ive been using the L'oreal Elnett hairspray. This is a great hairspray for holsing in place without leaving that crispy, gross feel on to the hair.

Aside from hair products, this was a month of lip products. Although they all are fairly reserved similar colours, thats what ive been liking for summer. Up first is Maybelline Baby Lips in Peach Kiss. This is a great product for me to just throw on as im on the go. It gives the slightest peachy tint to the lips, but makes them feel super smooth and fins myself rubbing my lips together a lot when I have it on. The other two are pinky shades. Rimmel Airy Fairy is a nice pinky nude thats easy to wear. I dont usually go for the pinky shades but this is a good colour for my skintone and is a professional, work appropriate  colour. Second is Maybelline Colour Whisper in Lust For Blush. These lipsticks are fantastic. They feel like a balm but give a nice 'whisper' of colour. Spot on with the name there Maybelline. This has been my most used colour as its really easy to throw on and not have to think about and looks good with everything.

Ive finally found my beloved Simple Refreshing Facial Wash Gel. Ive been using a Murad cleanser in the meantime but it while it leaves me feeling soft, it doesnt feel like its doing a whole lot of cleaning. The simple one however, makes my skin feel clean but without that stripped and tight feeling. My skin is a lot happier since using this again.

Current Lipstick Favs

This summers been all about the peachy pinks for this girl. On my lazy days or when I want to go more natural, I grab my Maybelline Baby Lips in Peach Kiss. For a light peachy tint, this balm is great whether im wearing makeup or not. It gives just the slightest amount of colour but I cant help but apply it. Not to mention it smells lovely.
For some colour, ive been going for Maybelline Colour Whisper in Lust For Blush or Rimmel Lasting Finish in Airy Fairy. Lust For Blush is a obviously blush pink shade. It feels and applies like a balm but gives has nice colour payoff. Surprisingly this has been my most used lip product and I dont usually go for pink shades. Airy Fairy is more of a natural nudey pink shade, very work appropriate/professional type of colour. It looks really natural and similar to my natural lip colour, making it a suitable colour for my skintone.
I have worn some mauves and raspberry colours aswell, but these have been my most used and loved products. What have you been using lately?

NYX Mocha

The first powder blush from Nyx ive tried, is this bright pink which is oddly named Mocha. My beloved Wet n Wild Heather Silk blush broke and I havent been able to find the brand in stores (what?). I saw this shade and thought it was a very close colour comparison so thought id give it a try. Just like the Wet n Wild one, its super pigmented, so a light tap of the brush and thats plenty for one cheek. The colour is really pretty and gives a nice pink flush to my pale skin and wears well throughout the day. These range at I believe $8 in the drugstore and id really like to try more colours.

This Week Im Loving.. #9

This was one hot week at around 45 degrees celcius with humidity outside. I tried to avoid being outside as much as possible, because when I was I felt like a sweat ball with my all my clothes sticking to me. To keeo my face put, I broke out the Covergirl and Olay Simply Ageless Serum Primer. This isnt a bad primer and is easily accesible in most drugstores. It really helps at keeping my foundation from melting off my face in the heat. For applying my foundation, my new Real Techniques Buffing Brush has been a joy to use. Ive only used this two or three times and its already becoming one of my favourite brushes. It makes application a breeze, blends really easily and is suoer soft. Now I see why everyone loves this little guy. On the lips ive been really liking the Maybelline Colour Whisper in Lust For Blush. This is a really pretty blush pink that even I can wear. I dont tend to suit most pinks so I was pleasantly surprised at how much I like and use this. It goes with everything ans has the smoothest, loveliest texture.
A few skincare things are my beloved Simple Refreshing Facial Wash Gel, which I could not find anywhere for months. A gentle cleanser that cleans the skin really well but doesnt leave that tight, itchy feeling. I was using a Murad cleanser for a few months but im just not a fan. Lastly is a cult favourite, the Caudalie Beauty Elixir. Now I wasnt sure exactly if I wanted to include this. I have been using it for about a month or so and enjoy spritzing it on my face after cleansing, but dont quite get it. It feels refreshing on the skin, but I dont feel like it really does anything. People say its amazing and helps with redness and blemishes, but I have fairly clear skin anyway and havent noticed much of a difference with redness, etc. The smells something you have to get used to aswell. Either way, its nice to spray when I want a little pick me up or if my makeups looking a little blah throughout the day. What are your thoughts on this product?

Whats On My Face #1

I hadnt been planning on leaving the house, but my mom asked if I wanted to go wander around target with her so I quickly threw on some makeup to make me look a little more alive. I started with the Revlon PhotoReady BB Cream as a light coverage to the skin. For eyes I didnt really want to wear anything but mascara so I started with Maybelline The Rocket mascara, but felt a bit undone so went in with Rimmel Kohl Kajal pencil in Purple Passion- a really pretty purple liner that I havent worn in quite  a while. On top I added a bit of Mac Memorabilia eyeshadow to darken it up a bit.
To brighten up my skin a bit I applied Mac Mocha to my cheeks and finished it off with a bit of Rimmel Airy Fairy lipstick and out the door I went.
